Exaltation Day 6 - Catholic Action For Faith and Family

Day Six- The Exaltation of the Holy Cross – The 7 Sorrows of Our Lady

Do everything calmly and peacefully. Do as much as you can as well as you can. Strive to see God in all things without exception, and consent to His will joyously. Do everything for God, uniting yourself to him in word and deed. Walk very simply with the Cross of the Lord and be at peace with yourself.

EXALTATION OF THE HOLY CROSS NINE DAY NOVENA PRAYER

Jesus, Who because of Your burning love for us
willed to be crucified
and to shed Your Most Precious Blood
for the redemption and salvation of our souls,
look down upon us and grant the petition(s) we ask for

(Mention your petitions now. Ask Jesus to bestow abundant graces upon Cardinal Burke.)

We trust completely in Your Mercy.
Cleanse us from sin by Your Grace,
sanctify our work,
give us and all those who are dear to us our daily bread,
lighten the burden of our sufferings,
bless our families,
and grant to the nations,
so sorely afflicted,
Your Peace, which is the only true peace,
so that by obeying Your Commandments
we may come at last to the glory of Heaven. AMEN.

HONORING THE SORROWS OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY

The Fourth Sorrow of the Blessed Virgin Mary:

Mary Meets Jesus on the Way to Calvary

Pray 1 Our Father

In the end, Pilate handed Jesus over to be crucified.

Pray 1 Hail Mary

Carrying the Cross by Himself, He went out to what is called the Place of the Skull.

Pray 1 Hail Mary

A great crowd of people, followed Him, including women who beat their breasts and lamented over Him.

Pray 1 Hail Mary

Jesus turned to them and said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me. Weep for yourselves and for your children.”

Pray 1 Hail Mary

On their way out they met a Cyrenian named Simon.  This man they pressed into service to carry the Cross.

Pray 1 Hail Mary

“If a man wishes to come after Me, he must deny his very self, take up his cross, and begin to follow in My foot steps.”

Pray 1 Hail Mary

“Take My yoke upon your shoulders and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble of heart.”

Pray 1 Hail Mary

Mary, full of Mercy, remind our hearts of the suffering of Jesus during His Passion.

O MARY, sorrowful Virgin and Mother of all Christians, pray for us and hear my intentions which I now present to you. (Mention your intentions now and especially ask the Blessed Virgin Mary to bestow many graces upon Cardinal Burke.)
