Transfiguration Day 3 - Catholic Action For Faith and Family

Day Three– Transfiguration of the Lord Feast Day

Today is the day we begin to transform our lives while contemplating the vision of the Transfigured Jesus.  Let us take a closer look at how we are living:

Have you forgiven those who have hurt you, through their words or actions?

O Jesus, when it is hard to forgive, let the light of Your Countenance shine upon me!

Do you find yourself frustrated when you reflect on your past mistakes, asking why you behaved the way you did?

O Jesus, when I am tempted to look only at my faults, let the light of Your Countenance shine upon me!

Has it been a while since you’ve spent time with a good friend or have you grown distant from someone you were once close to?

O Jesus, when friendship is far from me and I feel the need for human companionship, let the light of Your Countenance shine upon me!

Is it difficult (or painful) to look at problems that you will eventually have to deal with?

O Jesus, when I cannot face my problems, let the light of Your Countenance shine upon me!

Is there anything in your life, such as your personality, spending habits, or wasting time, that you wish you could change?

O Jesus, when I think I can’t change, let the light of Your Countenance shine upon me!

When was the last time you examined your conscience and then confessed your sins to a priest?

O Jesus, when blinded by sin, let the light of Your Countenance shine upon me!

When was the last time you adored Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament? Set aside time to visit Jesus and adore Him, either at your parish (or one nearby). Or even online if you are homebound. Here is a link to 24-hour Live Adoration.

O Jesus, I thank you for the many graces you have bestowed upon me, may the light of Your Countenance always shine upon me!

My Lord Jesus Christ, before Your passion and death, Your face changed in appearance and You revealed Your glory to the disciples, Peter, James and John on Mount Tabor. May the Holy Catholic Church that You founded grow in love for You through the Holy Eucharist – the most sweet Body and Blood. I ask that it be a source of joy in all my trials and temptations. I beg You to guide my every word and deed, so that You will find it pure and pleasing. When it is hard to face life’s realities and I grow weary, angry, frustrated or lonely, let me only look to the radiance of Your face as the solution to all my problems. In contemplating Your glorious Transfigured face, I place my needs before You. Mention your intentions now and especially pray for the needs of Cardinal Burke, as well as his continued good health.) AMEN.

Do you have any intentions to submit for the August 6 Holy Mass in Honor of the Transfiguration?
