St. Padre Pio Day 1 - Catholic Action For Faith and Family

St. Padre Pio ministered to his spiritual children around the world who approached him for advice, as well as to be their intercessor to Jesus and Mary. When it came to prayer, he gave “words of wisdom” on how to begin and then grow in prayer.

"Prayer is the best weapon we have; it is the key to God's heart. You must speak to Jesus not only with your lips, but with your heart. In fact, on certain occasions you should only speak to Him with your heart."

“Praise Him, pray to Him, listen to Him.”

“Have patience and persevere in the holy exercise of meditation; be content to begin with small steps till you have legs to run, better still wings to fly.”

Dearest Padre Pio, I have so much to say to Jesus, please teach me how to grow in my prayers. Thank Jesus for me, for all the gifts and blessings He has given me; ask Him to forgive me for the times I have neglected to say a few words of gratitude to the ever-loving Son of God. Today, I am calling upon Jesus, for His divine guidance and help and need a supporting hand to keep me on the path that God wants me be on, and I ask for His infinite wisdom. I ask Jesus to grant that I may love Him with all my heart, for I seek His love, His grace, His will and His heart. May I always practice love of my neighbor, no matter how difficult that is. I forgive all who have hurt me in any way. I am ready to change my life if that will be more pleasing to God.

Now, I come to you, my dearest intercessor.  In honor of the Anniversary of your 137th day of birth on May 25th, I ask for a “gift”, a miracle in these my most pressing needs. (Mention your intentions now and especially ask for Cardinal Burke to receive an abundance of grace.) AMEN
