Day One: Presidential Election Countdown

Every Friday is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Let us appeal to His love and mercy, especially for our nation, as Election Day draws near, as well as for our own personal petitions. 

O Jesus, Your Sacred Heart is the king and center of all hearts. As the presidential election date is near, we humbly place these intentions in Your Heart:

Stir up Your people, O Lord so that they may form their conscience, so as to fulfill their civic responsibility for the common good, by choosing to elect government leaders who respect and uphold the moral law.

That those who are planning to vote for candidates who do not support the protection of human life may be enlightened by the Holy Spirit.

Open the eyes of all Christians who vote, that when they enter the voting booth, they may realize that their hands, that were lifted up to you in prayer are the same hands that touch and finalize their ballot. That the same eyes that read sacred scripture are the eyes that read the names on the ballot. May they not cease to be Christians when they begin to vote. Give them the strength to choose Your will above all things and to stand for what is right.

In all my temptations, I place my trust in Thee, O Sacred
Heart of Jesus.
In all my weaknesses, I place my trust in Thee, O Sacred
Heart of Jesus.
In all my difficulties, I place my trust in Thee, O Sacred
Heart of Jesus.
In all my trials, I place my trust in Thee, O Sacred
Heart of Jesus.
In all my sorrows, I place my trust in Thee, O Sacred
Heart of Jesus.
In all my work, I place my trust in You, O Sacred
Heart of Jesus.
In every failure, I place my trust in Thee, O Sacred
Heart of Jesus.
In every discouragement, I place my trust in
Thee, O Sacred Heart of Jesus.
In life and in death, I place my trust in Thee, O Sacred
Heart of Jesus.
In time and in eternity, I place my trust in Thee, O Sacred
Heart of Jesus. 

O Jesus, make my heart vigilant, in union with Your Sacred Heart, in offering up small sacrifices between now and election day. May those who trust in You, feel Your love and peace at this crucial time in the history of our nation, for You are always with us. AMEN.
