Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Novena Day 2 - Catholic Action For Faith and Family

Novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel

July 8 – Day Two

Daily Prayer

Immaculate Virgin and Queen of Carmel, thou art the hope of the sufferer and the consolation of the afflicted. Look not upon my sins, but remember only that I am a poor soul redeemed by the Precious Blood of Thy Son, and that my heart is sealed with the holy scapular. Hear my prayer and if it be for the glory of God, thy honor and for the salvation of my soul, grant what I ask in this novena. Amen.

2nd Day

I give thanks to thee, O Virgin Mother of Carmel, for the gift of thy holy Scapular, the sign of thy Confraternity: O my Mother, make me worthy to wear your sacred livery, and may my heart ever be pure, free from every stain of sin. Amen. Hail Mary (three times).

Flower of Carmel Prayer

O most beautiful flower of Mount Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven, Blessed Mother of the Son of God, Immaculate Virgin assist me in this necessity. O Star of the Sea, help me and show me herein you are my Mother.  O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth, I humbly beseech thee from the bottom of my heart, to succor me in this necessity; there is none that withstand your power. O show me herein you are my Mother.

O Mary conceived without sin,

Pray for us who have recourse to thee

(repeat 3 times)

Sweet Mother,

I place this cause in your hands.

(repeat 3 times)

Thoughts to Ponder:

When we are asking God to heal us of problems in our life, whether it be a physical, emotional, psychological or spiritual healing – even a healing of a relationship, are we open to forgiving others in our life that have hurt us, that caused us bitterness, anger, resentment and unforgiveness? Today, we asked the Sacred Virgin to deliver us from all evil. Let’s invoke Our Blessed Mother to help us, to truly forgive everyone who has hurt us. Let us choose to forgive – it doesn’t mean we may still feel angry and hurt. Forgiveness is an act of the will; not a feeling. Once we do that, let us be open to walking through the doorway of healing.
