Day Three – Invoking the Intercession of Our Lady of the Annunciation and St. Gabriel the Archangel
Today, March 25, is the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord
Prayer to Our Lady of the Annunciation
Mary, mighty Virgin, as I reflect on this great solemnity of the Annunciation, you were found by the Archangel Gabriel, quick to do God’s will, which corresponded with the desires of the august Trinity for man’s redemption, giving your consent in order to redeem the world. May I learn from your example, when you said FIAT so willingly to God. Now, I come with my heavy burdens, my misery and all my needs and beg you to help me. Your Son Jesus, who was nourished by the substance and blood in your holy womb, please bring my petitions to Him. In your most holy hands, I place my heart and I ask of you, health of body, mind and soul and to guard me against the snares of the enemy and all evil spirits (Now mention all of your intentions, especially for the continuation of good health for Cardinal Burke.)
Most holy Virgin, Mother of the Incarnate Word, you are a treasure house of grace, and by your motherly love I ask of you the grace to do God’s will, no matter how many roadblocks and temptations come before me. Obtain for us peace in the world and true repentance for all the atrocities that have been committed, which deeply offend your Son, Jesus. Forgive us, dear Mother.
Pray the Hail Mary three times
Prayer to St. Gabriel the Archangel
O blessed Archangel Gabriel, we beseech thee, intercede for us at the throne of Divine Mercy in our present necessities, that as thou didst announce to Mary the mystery of the Incarnation, so through thy prayers and patronage in Heaven we may obtain the benefits of the same, and sing the praise of God forever in the land of the living. AMEN
I salute you, glorious St. Gabriel the Archangel, Prince of Heaven, who stands before the throne of God, ever mindful of those who seek your intercession. You are the herald of the Incarnation, who revealed the glories of Mary and foretold the greatness of Jesus. Save our souls, show us how to love and care for others in the world, especially those who are suffering, to speak kind words to the unbelievers as well as to those who are unhappy and find life burdensome. Guide priests, so that they are not afraid to speak the truth. Assist world leaders in all aspects of communication, so that all violence and killings will cease and peace will come. Give us strength, admirable teacher, so that we may grow in our faith, evangelize and lead others to Holy Mother Church. Bring to us God’s mercy, as well as the Gifts and Charisms of the Holy Spirit. You were the first adorer of Jesus, give us a deep desire to be close to Jesus, especially when He is exposed on the altar at adoration. During this Lent, help us to grow deeper in our meditations on the Passion of Jesus Christ and the Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Please bring these petitions I now place before you to God Almighty (mention all of your intentions, especially for the continuation of good health for Cardinal Burke). AMEN.
