Annunciation Day 1 - Catholic Action For Faith and Family

Day One – Invoking the Intercession of Our Lady of the Annunciation and St. Gabriel the Archangel

Prayer to Our Lady of the Annunciation

With wonder I revere thee, O holiest Virgin Mary, for of all God's creatures you were the humblest of all virgins on the very day of the Annunciation, when God Himself exalted you to become His own Mother. O mightiest Virgin, make me, wretched sinner that I am, know the depths of my own nothingness, and at once, with all my heart, humble myself before you. As you, O Virgin Mary, trusted in God’s Divine Providence, I desire to have the same trust in God’s will for me.  I come with my heavy burdens, my misery and all my needs and beg you to help me. Your Son Jesus, who was knit so wonderfully in your womb, with His Precious Blood flowing through His tiny arteries and veins – please bring my petitions to Jesus. In your most holy hands, I place my heart and I ask of you, health of body, mind and soul and to guard me against the snares of the enemy and all evil spirits (mention all of your intentions, especially for the needs to Cardinal Burke as well as the continuation of his good health).

Most holy Virgin, Mother of the Incarnate Word, you are a treasure house of grace, and by your motherly love I ask of you the grace to do God’s will, no matter how many roadblocks and temptations come before me. Obtain for us peace in the world and true repentance for all the atrocities that have been committed, which deeply offend your Son, Jesus. Forgive us, dear Mother.

Pray the Hail Mary three times

Prayer to St. Gabriel the Archangel

I salute you, glorious St. Gabriel the Archangel, Prince of Heaven, who stands before the throne of God, ever mindful of those who seek your intercession. You are the herald of the Incarnation, who revealed the glories of Mary and foretold the greatness of Jesus. Save our souls, show us how to love and care for others in the world, especially those who are suffering, to speak kind words to the unbelievers as well as to those who are unhappy and find life burdensome. Guide priests, so that they are not afraid to speak the truth. Assist world leaders in all aspects of communication, so that all violence and killings will cease and peace will come. Give us strength, admirable teacher, so that we may grow in our faith, evangelize and lead others to Holy Mother Church. Bring to us God’s mercy, as well as the Gifts and Charisms of the Holy Spirit. You were the first adorer of Jesus, give us a deep desire to be close to Jesus, especially when He is exposed on the altar at adoration. During this Lent, help us to grow deeper in our meditations on the Passion of Jesus Christ and the Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Please bring these petitions I now place before you to God Almighty (mention all of your intentions, especially for the needs to Cardinal Burke as well as the continuation of his good health). AMEN.
