Day Two: Miracle of the Sun 106TH Anniversary – Our Lady of Fatima
Let us dedicate our day for the purification and sanctification of priests. Present Our Lady of Fatima with a sacrifice. It could be a penance – such as apologizing to someone that you have injured or hurt, healing a division among families, fasting between meals, (or denying yourself a snack) or graciously accepting the menial tasks of life.
The book, Sinu Jesu, that has an Imprimatur by the Most Reverend Michael Smith, DCI, Bishop of Meath, includes a Chaplet of Reparation for Priests:
(To be prayed on the rosary)
Incline (+) unto my aid, O Lord, make haste to help me.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
World without end.
(On each of the Our Father beads)
Eternal Father, I offer Thee
The Precious Blood of Thy Beloved Son,
Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lamb without blemish or spot,
in reparation for my sins
and for the sins of all Thy priests.
(On each of the Hail Mary beads):
By thy Precious Blood, O Jesus,
Purify and sanctify all Thy priests.
(In place of the Glory be to the Father):
O Father, from whom all fatherhood in heaven and on earth is named,
Have mercy on sins of all Thy priests and wash them in the Blood of the Lamb.
St. Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face once said:
We ought to like suffering for priests. The more trials, annoyances, and all sorts of sufferings you have, the happier you should be. God will call us to account for the priests whom we could have saved by prayer and sacrifices, and didn't, because of our unfaithfulness and laxity. Let us not miss even one of these little sacrifices for them.” The Little Flower wrote this beautiful prayer:
O Jesus, eternal Priest,
keep your priests within the shelter of Your Sacred Heart,
where none may touch them.
Keep unstained their anointed hands,
which daily touch Your Sacred Body.
Keep unsullied their lips,
daily purpled with your Precious Blood.
Keep pure and unearthly their hearts,
sealed with the sublime mark of the priesthood.
Let Your holy love surround them and
shield them from the world’s contagion.
Bless their labors with abundant fruit and
may the souls to whom they minister be their joy and consolation
here and in heaven their beautiful and everlasting crown. AMEN
Our Lady of Fatima, sanctify our clergy.
Our Lady of Fatima, make our Catholics more fervent.
Our Lady of Fatima, give us back our ancient fervor.
Our Lady of Fatima, bring all men to the feet of Thy Divine Child
O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.
Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Let us pray:
O God of infinite goodness and mercy, fill our hearts with a great confidence in Thy dear Mother, whom we invoke under the title of Our Lady of Fatima, and grant us by her powerful intercession all the graces, spiritual and temporal, which we need. (Mention your intentions now. And especially that many graces be bestowed upon Cardinal Burke.) We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
