Day 3: Penance for the Faithful

Reflection

“How must we sacrifice?” Lucia asked. The Angel of Portugal answered her, “Offer God a sacrifice of anything you can as an act of reparation for the sins with which He is offended and as a supplication for the conversion of sinners.”

“‘Many persons, feeling that the word penance implies great austerities, and not feeling that they have the strength for great sacrifices, become discouraged and continue a life of lukewarmness and sin.’ Then she said Our Lord explained to her: ‘The sacrifice required of every person is the fulfillment of his duties in life and the observance of My law. This is the penance that I now seek and require.’"

Intention

Let us petition Our Lady of Fatima to hear our prayers for the conversion of sinners and for peace in the world and in our families.

Novena Prayer

Most Holy Virgin, you appeared at Fatima and revealed, to the three little shepherds, the treasures of graces hidden in the reciting of the Rosary.

Inspire our hearts with a sincere love of this devotion, so that by meditating on the mysteries of our redemption, we may gather its fruits and obtain the conversion of sinners, and the conversion of non-believers throughout the world.

O Holy Mary, I also ask for the favor that I now so earnestly seek…
